6.0       Entry Requirements

To enter Tanzania, travelers must possess a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining and a return or onward ticket. Most visitors require a visa, which can be obtained online through the Tanzania Electronic Visa Application System, at Tanzanian embassies, or upon arrival at designated entry points. We advise checking your entry visa requirements for Tanzania with your consulate or through our designated travel consultants. Additionally, it’s important to verify any health requirements, such as proof of yellow fever vaccination, especially if arriving from a country with a risk of transmission. Travelers should also stay informed about any updates regarding COVID-19 regulations or other health advisories that may affect entry.

On November 6, 2014, the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) issued a press release prohibiting the use of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in national parks and game reserves. This ban is enforced for security reasons and applies to all photography, filming, and other uses.

Drones may only be permitted under exceptional circumstances with prior approval from the Director General of TANAPA. All tour operators are required to inform their clients about this policy, which also affects visitors wishing to film in the parks.

We urge the public and our valued visitors to adhere to this notice in support of conservation efforts in Tanzania.

14.0     Government Trophies Notice
