Authentic Hot Air Balloon Safaris

Offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of the wildlife-rich landscapes and experience the raw beauty of this captivating country.

Experience a stunning hot air balloon safari over the iconic Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks, along with the exclusive Grumeti Singita Reserve. As you float gently through the sky, indulge in breathtaking scenery and uninterrupted views that make for a truly magical experience. Whether you’re an avid photographer, a passionate wildlife enthusiast, or simply seeking an unforgettable adventure, Tanzania’s hot air balloon safaris promise to leave you speechless.

At Noble Adventure, we often include hot air ballooning in our clients’ itineraries. A ride in a hot air balloon allows you to see, smell, and soak in the surroundings on a completely new level. It provides a unique perspective of the environment, adds an element of adventure, and often enhances the guest’s safari experience when conducted in a wildlife area, with numerous sightings of wild animals.

The beauty of a hot air balloon safari lies in its serene and tranquil nature. Unlike a game drive, where the rumble of engines can disturb the wildlife, a balloon safari offers a gentle and non-intrusive experience. As you drift silently above the plains, you’ll have the opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitats, undisturbed by your presence.

Spot elegant giraffes browsing on treetops, elephants roaming freely, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of elusive leopards nestled among the branches. Additionally, keep your eyes peeled for the diverse birdlife that inhabits the area. From vibrant lilac-breasted rollers to majestic vultures soaring overhead, the avian spectacle adds to the enchantment of your journey.

Your expert guides will enhance your experience by sharing their extensive knowledge and pointing out the fascinating wildlife you encounter, providing a truly immersive and educational adventure.

Your authentic experience will begin with a briefing by our guides the night before the flight, along with signing the waiver form.

Our guide will pick you up from your luxury camp, lodge, or hotel early in the morning (between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM) to arrive at the balloon launch area by approximately 6:00 AM. This will give you enough time to enjoy some hot Tanzanian coffee with homemade cookies, access clean restrooms, and complimentary Wi-Fi. During this time, the pilot will brief you on safety measures, launch and landing procedures, and what to expect.

Subject to weather conditions, you will take off around 6:30 AM. The basket will be on its side while you board and will stand upright just before taking off.

Shortly after elevation, you will likely enjoy a beautiful African sunrise (weather permitting).

During your balloon flight, you’ll enjoy an unparalleled bird’s-eye view of the breathtaking landscapes of Tarangire National Park and the exclusive Grumeti Singita Reserve. As you soar above, you’ll witness the stunning vistas of the Serengeti, renowned for its “endless plains.” The pilot will skilfully manoeuvre the balloon to spot wildlife, allowing you to experience these magnificent creatures up close. By lowering the balloon for better viewing and adjusting its altitude for optimal speed and direction, you’ll capture incredible sights that will leave you in awe. This adventure promises to create unforgettable memories amidst some of Tanzania’s most iconic natural wonders.

  • The flight usually lasts about 1 hour (+/- 15 minutes), depending on the weather.
  • You can still enjoy hot coffee during the flight.

Landing usually depends on the landscape of the area and wind speeds. The basket may experience a few bumps before coming to a halt or tipping over, but most of the time it is as smooth and gentle as the flight itself.

Upon landing, you will be welcomed with a celebratory champagne toast, accompanied by a brief history of this delightful tradition. This will be followed by a delicious bush breakfast set in the midst of the wilderness. Take a moment to reflect on your breathtaking journey as you savor a gourmet meal and share stories with your fellow balloon safari adventurers.

Afterwards, you will be driven to our carefully selected bush breakfast area, where our team will warmly welcome you to enjoy a delicious plated breakfast.

Please provide us with any dietary requirements in advance so we can accommodate your needs. After your breakfast, you will receive your certificates and be returned to the Visitors Centre or the nearest airstrip to meet up with your driver guide to continue your safari.
